Burger Wellington is back!

Burger Wellington is on now until the end of August. This delicious event sees resturants and cafés across Wellington offer their best burgers. The options include budget friendly options at $20 to more pricey out the box ideas including crayfish and oyster burgers!

The event also sees burger making classes and a hydrogen powered BBQ event with Chef Shepherd Elliott that will look at the future of burgers.

This year’s theme is Breaking the Mould so there are so many amazing and creative options to try. Here’s our top picks all with carparks close by:

Leuven Belgium Beer Café – head here for a waffle burger with a European twist! A pork and beef pattie with sauerkraut, lettuce and homemade Belgium burger sauce all served in a waffle bun!

Hideout – for cheap and cheerful but flavoursome option head to Hideout! Their $19 option has a delios Asian twist with marinated pork belly, lettuce, wonton crackers, sriracha mayo served in a steamed charcoal bun with agria fries.

The Jaya’s Wine Bar – for the ultimate vege option head to Jaya’s Wine Bar. Here you can enjoy a Chat-Pata, A burger made with crumbled patty of potato, ginger, green chilli, special spices and fresh coriander. Served with spicy potato noodles, radish, carrot, beetroot, ginger, green chili salad, smashed chickpeas all on a green Brezelmania potato milk bun and Indian onion rings.

The Library – For those after a sweet or dessert burger head to The Library and enjoy their Coclate Éclair-Y. The burger is a "Toffee Pop" brûléed Schnitzel Von Krummed chocolate patty, with blueberry Muffin McLay ketchup, lemon Zany Zeus crème fraîche mayonnaise, Candy Cutique freeze-dried chocolate candy floss, and bluebird salted potato chips, in a salted butter Dough Bakery brioche bun – What more do you need!

Wolf by Foxglove – this burger is a little on the pricey side at $130 but sounds amazing and the ultimate treat! A Japanese Wagyu steak and smashed brisket patty, with Yellow Brick Road crayfish gribiche, and shaved black truffle in a Japanese milk bun. Served with a spoon of Oscietra caviar.
